WinPack v6.80 Comms Setup Baud Rate: 9600 Data Bits: 8 Stop Bits: 1 Parity: None Com Port: Com1 Connect String: *** CONNECTED to Disconnect string: *** DISCONNECTED Editor Line Length: 74 Handshaking: RTS/CTS DCD shows con: YES Host mode: NONE ---- Connect computer to TM-D700 using a straight through cable. Once in PACKET mode at any time, you may need to enter HB 1200 or HB 9600 to set the proper packet speed after switching modes. To switch speed while in APRS mode, use PKSA 0 for 1200, PKSA 1 for 9600. ---- Com port CAN NOT be shared! You may need to use another com port than Com1 {Com2, Com3, Com4, etc.} WinPack supports Com1 thru Com8. ---- I created two new directories in my installed WinPack. c:\WINPACK\SCRIPTS\tm-d700 c:\WINPACK\SCRIPTS\examples I moved the following files from \WINPACK\SCRIPTS to \WINPACK\SCRIPS\examples\: DXCLUST.TXT PK965CR.TXT SENDFILE.TXT I placed copies of the TM-D700 STATUP.txt and EXIT.txt files in the \WINPACK\SCRIPTS\tm-d700 and in the \WINPACK\SCRIPTS directories. That way I will always have a backup copy available in the \tm-d700 of its related STARTUP and EXIT files. I plan to write some batch files to manage multiple STATUP and EXIT file sets. ----- Remember we are now on Mountain Standard Time. You should check the [TERMINAL] section of the file: \WINPACK\PACKET.INI If your computer uses local time the TIME_ZONE value needs to read: TIME_ZONE=UTC-7 When we are on Mountain Savings Time the entry should read: TIME_ZONE=UTC-6 ----
