SOFTWARE AND WHERE TO GET IT:
EchoLink® software allows licensed Amateur
Radio stations to communicate with one another over the Internet, using
voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology. The program allows worldwide connections
to be made between stations, or from computer to station, greatly enhancing
Amateur Radio's communications capabilities.
EchoLink® software is offered free of
charge to licensed Amateur Radio operators worldwide, for Amateur Radio
use only. Please note that you must hold a valid Amateur Radio
license in order to use EchoLink.

OPTIMIZE YOUR ECHOLINK CONFIGURATION
- Read How to Use and Control EchoLink Favorites.
- Teach your system the call signs to monitor so you’ll know when a
FRUPAC member is logged into EchoLink.
- Read using EchoLink on more than one computer.
- Learn how to configure your network router to use any-of-many computers you may
have.
- Read EchoLink, Firewalls, and Routers.
- Your connection to the Internet might be going through a router or a firewall. Routers and firewalls
can be a problem for peer-to-peer programs such as EchoLink. The reason is that EchoLink nodes
communicate directly with each other over the Internet, rather than sending all of their packets
through a server. Learn how to properly configure your system to allow you to use EchoLink.
